BTU description

  • British Thermal Units (BTU)
  • 1kW = 3,412 BTU
  • 1BTU = 0,252 kcal/h

Ex: An air conditioner unit that supplies 9,000 BTUs is 2.26 kW.

What is  air conditioner single-split system?

Mural air conditioner is a device that cools the room by recirculating the room air.

It can be positioned only on wall mounted.

What is air conditioning multi-split system?

This type of air conditioner is similar to mural air conditioner simple split system. This system is formed of one outdoor unit and 2 or more indoor units that can be placed in different rooms.

What is a cassette air conditioning unit?

Cassette air-conditioning is a fantastic option for commercial settings and residences with large open areas but limited wall space.

A Cassette air-conditioning system works in the same way that a wall-mounted system does, with the difference being that cassettes are installed in the ceiling rather than the wall to offer a greater degree of installation freedom.

Cassette air conditioning tends to be more powerful than wall-splits, and as such, they are best suited to large, open-plan spaces. Conditioned air is distributed through the sides of the cassette with air-flow available in up to four directions, for even temperature distribution. Both cooling only and reverse-cycle cassettes are available in single room and multi-room systems.

What  is floor standing air conditioner?

Floor standing air conditioner system is one of the solutions that can be applied for large air-conditioning, which were not initially provided with air conditioning systems. They consist of an indoor unit, an outdoor unit and a remote control unit for the indoor unit. Can be used for both cooling and heating (INVERTER function).

What means VRV or VRF system?

"VRV" -  this concept was develpoed by Daikin Industries and refers to  "variable refrigerant volume"  This term "VRV"  is Daikin registered mark. This is the reason that others producers are using VRF "variable refrigerant flow". Basically, refers to the same function, and represents highly efficient, safe, economical ways to cool or heat buildings. The refrigerant flow is precisely tailored to meet the demand for heating or cooling the building, saving energy.

On short, they are probably the best systems available for medium and large HVAC applications.

What means INVERTER function?

Traditional air conditioners use a compressor that works on the on-off principle to regulate the room temperature. Air conditioners with Inverter technology use a new compressor model with varying refrigeration (and caloric) capacity, along with an electronic control unit that controls the compressor capacity and fan speed. So, when the appliance is switched on, it's compressor operates at maximum capacity, managing to cool the room much faster  than an traditional air conditioner.

What is the difference between HVAC climate and air conditioning?

HVAC climate covers many things, but it mainly involves heating, cooling, ventilation, fresh air intake, filtration and humidity control. Air conditioning only means cooling the air to improve comfort.

 What means COP?

"Coefficient of Performance"- the performance coefficient is the ratio of the absorbed electrical power to the generated heat output.

For example, a modern heat pump will generate 3 kW of thermal energy for 1 kW of electricity consumed. In this case, the COP will be 3.

 What means  EER?

"Energy efficiency ratio" - Energy Efficiency Ratio is the ratio between the power consumption and the generated cooling power. COP and EER are similar sizes but are used for heating or cooling.

What is the energy class?

The energy class is a new method that allows consumers to compare the energy efficiency of the equipment.

Using air conditioning can cause illness?

An air conditioning system that is not properly used and sanitized by specialists may be the cause of cold-like symptoms. Allergens are the sum of foreign substances that, once introduced into the body (eg by breathing), cause allergies, that is, it increases pathologically the sensitivity of the body, inducing its illness. This is one of the reasons why filters of air conditioners should be cleaned periodically, because they can contain allergens, dust or animal hair that can cause respiratory infections.
